Skinart New Zealand – New Course Format

Use the course introduction below as a starting point, then confirm the current arrangements for the course you want to take. Dates, equipment options and practical requirements should be checked on the current course page before booking.

Fine-line tattooing is now included

The current tattoo course includes fine-line tattooing alongside blackwork, traditional tattooing, tribal and Māori-inspired design exercises, watercolour and colour realism. Fine-line study focuses on design, control and practice; review your assigned exercises and ask your trainer for feedback as you develop your skills.

Our guide to learning fine-line tattooing explains how to approach this style, what to practise and what to ask before choosing a course. Use it alongside the current tattoo curriculum. The older introduction video on this page provides background; the current curriculum shows the lessons available now.

Choose a learning format that fits your schedule

Compare the New Zealand tattoo training guide with the current online tattoo course. For an in-person option, ask which preparation is expected before attending and what practice or assessment follows the scheduled sessions.

Confirm the details before arranging travel

  • Request the next available dates and confirmed venue.
  • Check which equipment option you have selected.
  • Ask what to complete or bring before your practical session.
  • Confirm how to submit practice and ask for feedback afterwards.

Explore other disciplines

If you are considering more than one subject, compare the New Zealand course and package guide before choosing. Check the included courses and practical arrangements for the specific package rather than assuming all combinations work the same way.
